Mark Torpoco
I am a filmmaker, screenwriter, and poet interested in stories that explore identity, memory, resilience, and the ways people respond to change. My work ranges from atmospheric genre films and visual experiments to character-driven dramas, often blending cinematic storytelling with themes drawn from history, personal experience, and literature. I was honored to receive the 2026 Zaki Gordon ’94 Viewpoint Film Award, and to have attended the Iowa Young Writers’ Studio and the Kenyon Review Young Writers Workshop. I am drawn to stories that combine strong visual language with emotional authenticity.
